Looking to hear from all you talanted members!
Where do you like to go with your pouches?
Any uk weekend breaks pet freindly?
Living in Devon we take our dogs to the Moors but they have also been to several places in Cornwall.
We have 3 dogs and they usually come with us in our Motorhome so we always visit dog friendly sites.
Last year we went on holiday in Scotland, we only took our smallest dog, but there were lots of dog of all sizes on the site.
We regularly stay on a site in Dawlish and another in Princetown, they are both local so we spend long weekends there and our dogs always come with us.
We have travelled to lots of different sites all over the country with the dogs, so it depends where you are or plan to go really @richardk7127.
There are several Lidlers with dogs so I am sure they can also share there knowledge with you if you could let us know of any particular area you are considering .
@tommiesgirl Thank's for the reply! Oh wow how lucky are you devon looks a lovely place! I stay in Kelloholm in Dumfires & Galloway very rural lol! I was just looking for ideas really ive been up north of scotland alot but its very cold and the midges are a killer I don't own a camper etc i looked on the haven website and the price they were charging i could go abroad for that maybe twice lol.
I don't mind spending money but £700 plus for a long weekend seems a bit much for me.
They have some great site information, it tells you which sites are dog friendly, where they are situated and the prices are also available.
Places like Parkdean can be alright but the costs can be ridiculous and they are not necessarily good sites.
The site we visited in Scotland last year was Hoddom Castle, Nr Lockerbie. They have some very unique accommodation for people to stay in
Looks lovely! Did you visit gretna green? Im about an hour away from lockerbie!
Thanks for all the advice and photos much appreciated @tommiesgirl
We did visit Gretna Green @richardk7127. There was a big posh wedding going on and even though the man was playing the Bagpipes the wedding couple did not get much attention from anyone other than the few invited guests.
A bus load of visitors were there and as they came through to the centre they were all asking to take photos of our Shih Tzu, Chunkie.
The dog loved it and Hubby said I should have charged for the photos as most of the people were holiday makers from abroad. I was worried they wanted to take him home to eat
@tommiesgirl Gretna is lovely! Did you induldge yourself shopping? People rave about all the outlets i don't think they are upto much! When you have some spare time you should take your tourer to East Lothian north bewrick in particular lovely place lots of camping sites to! Great for dogs and theres a secret beach with an old smugglers harbour. Theres east fortune market you can visit on a sunday dog freindly just next to museum of flight! Theres also loads of other things to do i think youd have a ball! Close to edinburgh to arthurs seats lovely!
There is not really a midge problem on the east coast highlands, and I think you could find a static for hire for about half the 700 you mentioned. I keep my tourer at Black rock caravan park Evanton, very dog friendly, forest next door, static caravans for hire. Also camping pods and a bunkhouse. Its a fantastic family run site not a big business rip off. @richardk7127
@Professorhaggis Ill need to have a google! I think the sites that aren't part of haven bourne leisure etc are alot cheaper and alot better than these!
