Better in a bit of batter? Mince pie mania (BBC quote)

I have never been so glad of question mark. A battered mince pie!

Read THIS if you want to be amazed by what people think is a good idea. Strudel. I think not. And they wonder about people becoming obese.

yuk they already have a rich pastry case, no need to add a gross greasy batter bleurgh!

I keep seeing awful stuff like this all over the web lately, ridiculous skyscraper burgers piled high with greasy patties bacon etc and then coverered in what seems to be a bucketful of melted cheese.

Freakshakes topped with sugary doughnuts,a scoop of ice cream and then all kinds of other things on top of that oreos, marshmallows, lashings of whipped cream sweets sprinkles the lot.

It seems like greed and excess is being encouraged everywhere you look and yet when people become obese they are looked down on for having no self control.

Same issue when I go to the US. Ask for a single portion of something. What arrives would feed three hungry wharfies. I ordered a single dessert when I was with 6 colleagues. We asked for one portion and 6 spoons. Just about enough for them (I did not want dessert). Why spoil something lovely?
