Re: Pet Christmas

Yes @Galicianguy not quite gaga but nearly there.  Two weeks ago I went Christmas shopping for  Patty dog and Tilly cat and their friends.  Pets at Home know me now and this time I had the red carpet treatment,  The final bill was just under £130.  No new coat this year but new toys and knitted home made jumpers they are knitted to measure and are better fitting.  Ask @tommiesgirl.  No @Tombola, as usual you are taking the Michael,  I would not get boots/stockings for the dog but saying that if you are daft enough, you can buy the at said Petshop.  I don't think your pooch would thank you for it.  Tilly cat and my son's Kitty are having new toys ie fish on rope and featherbell, squeeky mices and tinkly balls.  My friend's dog a new harness so she does not drang little dog by the neck, my other friend's tomcat got a new posh dicky bow collar and Dreamies also known as S.M.A.C.K for cats.  Patty has the special treats for dogs ie mince pies, mini Christmas puds and gingerbread men an other hand picked treats  I have already started packing their Christmas stocking, see photo, hand knitted some years ago from a Christmas pattern book by a Scottish Lady by the name of Jean Greenhowe, I think she is from Glasgow @Tombola and Lady Florence has probably heard of her. @Tombola, @tommiesgirl, @Nic, @GalicianguySnowman for Tilly and Santa in chimney for PattySnowman for Tilly and Santa in chimney for Patty

@Tarantula@tommiesgirl@Tombola@Nic wow @Tarantula you're awesome what lucky pets you have. Don't tell mine. They will be striking for more. Though I did buy another couple of pet things tonight. While picking up a Tunis cake in a supermarket that wasn't Lidl. Well forced to Lidl didn't stock it.

Re: Pet Christmas

The bill was so humongous because I had to buy a lot of food items for Patty.  She is now 9 years old and I put her on a special diet, low in fat and joint care and her Youmove tablets are a bit pricey as well.  She used to thrive on the Orlando Complete but Lidl can't accommodate any whim and fancies their stores again would have to be twice the size again.  Saying that, I am disappointed that Lidl has not got any Firenze Black Forest Gateaux this year, unless they are late arriving.  It might have to be a trip to Iceland, a shop I have not used since Lidl opened about 18 years ago. Here are 2 more photos, mad woman that I am, the pictures are of Tilly's and Patty's Christmas Calendars both courtesy of Lidl. @Galicianguy@tommiesgirl, @Nic,, @Tombola -Patty's is filled with special biscuits and gingerbread men and Tilly's with 12 pieces of s.m.a.c.k (Dreamis),each portion wrapped in a bit of tissue paper, yes, mad as the proverbial hatter springs to mind.Tilly's , it has de-rotated itselfTilly's , it has de-rotated itself

Same as me @Galicianguy I used to go to a steak restaurant and it was always Prawn cocktail, steak, and black forest gateaux, lovely, although not altogether at once.

Re: Pet Christmas

I love the stockings @Tarantula

@Tombola I now have coats that fit my boys, properly thanks to @Tarantula. She was good enough to let me have a book with knitting patterns that fit the dogs properly. I do have some from the shop but all the shop bought coats are made a standard shape and size. They do not take into consideration that some dogs may have longer legs or some dogs are cross breeds and therefore they may need different shapes and sizes.

I have even made a 'Dog Balaclava' for our eldest dog, one of his ears was bitten in half by his mother when he was born (she didn't want him), he tends to get ear infections so now I have something he can wear to keep his ear warm.

My Mum used to have a toy Poodle and he had arthritis in his legs from a very young age, so Mum bought him leather booties with fur linings Smiley Happy @Tarantula@Tombola
