Visit My Mosque

VisitMyMosque is a national initiative whereby mosques throughout the UK are opening their doors to local communities to show them around, offer them refreshments and answer any questions about Islam in the UK today.

#VisitMyMosque day is a national initiative facilitated by the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), where over 100 mosques across the UK are holding open days to welcome in their neighbours from all faiths and none.

Thousands of Britons will have the opportunity to see the true face of Islam and Muslims in the UK.

The next #VisitMyMosque day is planned for Sunday 5 February 2017.

Visit My Mosque day aims to

  1. Encourage all mosques in Britain to hold an open day at least once per year
  2. Foster better community relations and community cohesion for the good of society as a whole
  3. Work for a more enlightened appreciation of Islam and Muslims in the wider society
  4. Work to reduce misconceptions about Islam and Muslims in Britain.
  5. Celebrate the vast array of charitable, outreach and social action projects performed by mosques in Britain.

Re: Visit My Mosque

@gruner Interesting that some mosques are Sunni and some are Ahmadi, etc. whose beliefs are different especially regarding the prophet.  So I suspect the initiative may not involve all of  mosques as the other Muslims section don't recognise them as Muslims.

That said, some Christian's don't always see other Christian following as the right  way.Just look at the historic conflicts with Henry VIII and in Northern Ireland and you will understand some of the issues in the Middle East.
