Spooked for Halloween

Halloween means something a little different to everyone. Some of us love the spectacle, some can't wait to get crafty, and others might simply want to turn the lights off and enjoy a good horror movie. Whatever your level of commitment to the bumps and spooks of Halloween, we have some tips below to help you get started or hopefully inspire you to try something different.

Spookify your space
A bit of decoration can brighten up even the smallest of external areas. Make your visitors smile with some simple lights, or go all out with lanterns, pumpkins and spooky figures to make those trick or treaters jump. Lidl have a range of Self-Inflating LED Halloween Figures for £19.99 in store from 10th October, so even if decorating's not your forte, you can still create a fun and creepy display.

Decide early on your costume
You'd be surprised how long it can take to get your costume right and you don't want to be THAT person who turns up without a costume. So the moment you're invited to a party or decide you're doing a gathering, get prepared! The face paints, vampire teeth, and scary masks are going to get sparse as the months go on and might even go up in price! If your costume making skills aren't as good as some of our Lidlers like @Jade, @Mike_Lidl and @Liv_Lidl or you're short on time, consider pre-made costumes. Even a simple printed T-shirt will show that you've made an effort! You can find a variety of costumes for kids, adults, and even a spider costume for the doggie in Lidl from the 10th of October from £2.99.

Ghostly grub
Halloween is the perfect time to get creative with food. Check out Lidl's Halloween recipes page for plenty of inspiration: https://recipes.lidl.co.uk/Collections/Halloween-recipes. If you're hosting a perilous party, or welcoming the trick or treaters to your door, you'll find plenty of themed snacks in store from just 89p, as well as some fab felt bags in a range of spooky designs for £2.49, or 2 for £4.

To really make your party go with a bang, you can pick up some giant sparklers, as well as a range of fireworks in store from 15th October. Always take care when handling fireworks, of course.

Pumpkin carving fun
From the tiniest Munchkin, all the way up to the biggest Monster, Lidl has the right size of pumpkin for everyone this Halloween. Get the kids to design some funky faces, and help them make their very own decoration with a Pumpkin Carving Set with LED Light, which includes all the tools you need to perfect your pumpkin masterpiece for £4.99.
